Malaysia has introduced a new “departure tax” from 1st Sept 2019.
This is additional to the normal airport tax to cover security etc.

BT covered this in a short article and so did other publications, but nobody (including BT) said whether this will be charged within the air ticket price or do we have to stump up cash at KLIA or at any airport.

How is this new added tax to be collected?

Not a huge amount considering the exorbitant charges in the UK. It will be collected at point of sale as G1 code.
