Today it’s reported in Poland that national airline LOT will add three B777-200ERs to its fleet.

At time of writing LOT was not prepared to comment officially.

These three B777-200ERs were previously operated by SIA (Singapore Airlines).

They are the long range version of the 200 series and SIA would use them for non-stop operations between Europe and Singapore (along with other long range services).

These aircraft are being obtained from leasing firm BCC (Boeing Capital Corporation) and are expected to be delivered to LOT later this year.

The move will enable LOT to increase its long-haul network.

Will be a great addition to their fleet, as they have been utilizing numerous other aircraft (Air Belgium A340’s for Long Haul, ex-Jet Airways 737-800’s short haul) as they are expanding quickly into numerous markets. I imagine they will install the same seating as in their Dreamliner fleet though, lie flat but not all aisle access, which would be a shame.

And what about regular economy ?

Will LOT retain SIA’s 3-3-3 seating or will it move to 3-4-3 ?

Further news is awaited as LOT has still not issued an official statement.
