They will present tomorrow their new Business Plus configuration in Mexico D.F.

Each passenger will have more than 2.2 meters of personal space, with an extra 30 cm between rows.

The new dimensions allow the seats to reach a fully horizontal position for sleeping.

So far three aircraft have been fitted with the new cabin congifuration, and the entire A-340 fleet will be equipped by March.

The move comes within the framework of the airline’s Total Customer Care programme, aimed at enhancing customer service across the board.

A really nice upgrade for iberia especially for those they think that BA is downgraded with this merge.

The trend for wedgie seats to be reconfigured into fully flat seats on those oneworld carriers which still use them (Qantas, American and Iberia) is encouraging, and one many Star Alliance carriers would do well to emulate.

    Good news indeed.

    There’s an English translation at:

    – which also includes some interesting stuff about mobile boarding passes, limo services and a new tier in the Iberia Plus programme.

Has anyone flown in IB’s new Business Plus? Can you recommend the best seats? I’m flying MAD-HAV-MAD in December. Also, being a BA Silver member, will I benefit from extra miles due to the merger?

I don’t know how many miles you could earn before, but know if you are flying business (Business plus) as a silver member you will earn totally for those two flights (MAD-HAV-MAD), 13908 miles and 240 tier points.

No, but I did a GRU (rather longer sector) in the old config and thought that was pretty comfortable, so I’d have no doubts about the new layout.

Also, if you don’t get any response from someone who had a flight with Iberia’s Business Plus, i think you can trust seatguru as it worked for me every time. Also has some extreme details that are true and i think you can trust.

For example they suggest the 1A or 1C and their reason is because those seats can recline more than the others.

    Have a nice Flight !!!

    Hello Stretch!

You might want to have a look on my experience report for Iberia’s new Business Plus product:

Actually, I’m just sitting in the airport lounge in Guatemala City waiting for my return flight with Iberia in Business Plus to Madrid 🙂

    Enjoy your flight!

Thanks to you all for your comments.

mk72 – how was your return flight?

Potakas – Seatguru does not show the new seat configurations, but then neither does the Iberia website.

Apart from Skytrax and Seatguru, can anyone suggest other websites?
