Did anyone notice the massive points devaluation going on at Hyatt?

They’ve introduced a new higher tier of accommodation, and inflated the tier levels of a large number of hotels

My personal gripe is the Grand Hyatt in Bali, which has moved up TWO tier levels from 1 to 3! This means that reward stays will cost 12,000 points per night vs 5,000 today… This is a real shocker – the hotel definitely is nice, but (at full room rates) is typically only $20-30 more than the other Hyatt in Bali, and definitely not worth a two-tier premium

There I was planning a whole load of Hyatt stays over the summer – guess I’ll just stick to IHG then…
