Can anyone confirm if any of these ride share apps are working well and reliably in Hong Kong.

Of course I know full well there’s a ‘good’ (subjective) red and black taxi service operating both sides of the harbour but I like and prefer the convenience of charging to a card and a fixed fare price not on a running meter.

Uber is the main app service -several levels – works well
The Uber red taxi app works well with just a small surcharge on the red taxi fare -charged to your card
There is a taxi app but I have found that the service is not good- many use it.

Uber is the only one in use in HK, out of the four

You can have normal uber or uber taxi in the app, at different prices usually.
One thing about the uber taxi though.
There’re 2 kinds of charging scheme for uber taxi.
One is the common fixed price charging.
The other is using the metered price, and uber will charge you a small surcharge.

Hope you’ll find some welcoming discount code as well. 😉😉
