Hong Kong Airport cancels all departing flights due to protesters

    I was only advised once not to leave the hotel and I followed that advice purely because of not being able to get a taxi back, it was too far to walk and not near an MTR. If it had been I would have probably gone out and just kept away from the immediate area the protesters were in that night. That was out in the NTs. My hotel was very clued up and followed social media to keep updated, I imagine that’s the case for most hotels, so your friends should be fine Canucklad.

    I was there on Sunday and as aforementioned you need to show your boarding pass to enter the airport terminal and although it seemed quieter in Lan Kwai Fong and Tsim Tsa Tsui than usual it could also have been due to the Tropical Storm bearing down.
