I recently paid a bit more attention to my accrual of Hhonors points (I booked some rooms using the 2 * Points package to see if it was worthwhile.)

However, I spotted something strange.

I recently spent stg£131.42 on room and room service at a UK Hilton.

I received 1,621 base points (plus other Myway bonus points)

The hhonors website says that one receives 10 points for every $1 spent. (Room and room service is valid spend for accrual)

Using today’s US$ to £ FX Rate of 1.4782 I should have received 1,936 Hhonors points.

The 1,621 actually received is approx 20% less than I expected.

I think that something strange is happening with the FX rate used by Hilton to make the conversion for Sterling conversions.

A week later I stayed in a European Hilton and the conversion from Euro to USD was fine.

Anyone have a similar experience?
