CharlesRhonaParticipantHas anyone up to date information on the current position regarding a potential eruption?
The most recent information I have is that an eruption will happen soon and that the volcano has recently expanded to the height it was when it last erupted.

VintageKrugParticipantI thought it was 2-3 year range according to the radio yesterday?
I doubt another eruption will lead to a full closure of airspace, and some airlines are fitting kit which will allow many flights to continue:

pheighdoughParticipantI found this on airliners.net http://www.airliners.net/aviation-forums/general_aviation/read.main/6157119/ and the aviation experts offer their opinions… There are a couple of useful links in the forum.
As I work in the aviation industry we are now starting to see additional warning signs, such as what to do in the event of an eruption, current Icelandic activity and it certainly looks like we’ll be seeing some disruptive activities soon.

pheighdoughParticipantUpdate
Still no surface eruption, so no threat to aviation. The wind changes direction over the next 24 hours, so if and when it does eventually erupt the ash cloud will be blown away from European airspace.

DavidJones6ParticipantMany reports stating that all airports in the country remain open. Am i right in thinking authorities relaxed the rules for airlines flying when potential eruption is close after 2010 ash cloud?
