This is breaking news and I cannot yet provide a link.

But I understand that from Monday April 6 Heathrow will have just one runway open and this will be used for mixed-mode operations.

Heathrow says it “will be alternating which runway we use on a weekly basis to ensure our local communities continue to get respite periods.”

This is a temporary move reflecting the traffic downturn.

    More to follow.

Does anyone know if cargo flights between LHR and JFK are still operating?

I am expecting a package here in NY from Ireland and the mail tracker shows it’s at the LHR international transit hub as of 31 March.

    Thanks!

Looking at Flightradar24, almost the only planes in the air seem to be cargo flights. I can’t answer definitively but I’d imagine the cargo flights ex LHR are still operating.

I expect the next move at LHR will be close one or even two terminals.

LGW has closed one of its terminals, Paris has closed ORY.

Now FRA (Frankfurt) says all operations will be “bundled” into T1 from April 7.
