If travelling to and from LHR note that the overhead wires on the GWR mainline out of London Paddington have been brought down.

HEX tweeted a short while ago “There are no Heathrow Express services running. All trains will be suspended until further notice.”

Pictures have emerged on social media showing customers and their luggage being evacuated from a stranded HEX train (along GWR’s mainline). From what I can see the HEX customers were transferred to a GWR HST train which, being unable to continue to LHR, brought them back to Paddington.

Readers will remember that it was along this line where an Hitachi test train also brought down the wires recently.

See Tom’s posting on October 17.
