So I have just had to cancel a trip that I booked using an Amex 2-4-1 voucher and it did not give me the option of taking a FTV.

It took me to the page but had a section stating that avios reward and companion voucher bookings would now be refunded and the voucher returned.

The big drawback on this is that the voucher is reinstated with the original expiry date. No extension.

Yes, that happened to me a couple of weeks ago. I wonder if it is because they have got wise to people gaming the system to extend their vouchers…
