The US FAA has given TK’s expansion plans a dent….it has banned all airlines from flying between the USA and Turkey. The only airline this affects though is TK as no US airline has flights to Turkey.

The FAA have not said how long the ban will last and that it relates to ‘diminished security’ at IST airport.

It’s being reported on CH-Aviation that the US authorities have banned all direct flights between Turkey and the US (and vice versa) until September 1.

But there will be a review inn mid-August so the ban might be lifted sooner.
