EZY proposes closing three UK bases, to make 700+ pilots redundant

    News breaking that LCC Easyjet is planning to close three UK bases: London Stansted and Southend plus Newcastle.

    There are reports that over 700 pilots will be made redundant.

    Oh dear. Working on 6 crews per per aircraft that would indicate that 120 aircraft will be grounded over these bases. Also, it would mean that 1200 cabin crew would also lose their jobs. Then there are all the ancillary staff at each of airport, Stansted, Newcastle and Southend to be considered. Devastating….and sad.
