Originally it had been thought the delay would be 2025 at the latest.
But latest news is now 2025 at least.
Those of you who live deep in Kent or near the Channel ports resent making the 140 or so miles London backtrack (on a return trip) which adds both to journey time and expense.
The latter has held a monopoly since 1994 and its product, while there have been some changes, hasn’t shown similar innovation to the airlines with whom it competes.
Nick Brooks, secretary general of ALL RAIL (a group representing private rail operators in Europe) comments,
“But *still* Eurostar blames everything else for its woes.
“As if- despite all the advantages it enjoys – it is unable to influence anything.
