    Another cutback at Etihad.

From June 30 Etihad will introduce “variable pricing” for business and economy class redemptions.

Now apparently there’s a single rate but this will be changed to “variances in fares.”

It means that some if not most members will lose out in some way.

Details are now being emailed to the scheme’s members.

Nothing to be astonished about …

Etihad has been cutting on services ,benefits ,and privileges secretly since 2016 with ONLY frequent flyers feeling the pinch .Now every single customer will have his fair share of the dramatic decline .

Etihad Guest members who have been relentlessly accruing piles of miles over the last few years are now finding out that they have been betrayed with their miles value declining sharply and losing most of its ( buying ) power .It is a sad and sharp ” going downhill ” scenario making Etihad Guest far from appealing as a FFP ,let alone the airline itself .

Another example why ‘loyalty’ to an airline is a misplaced emotion.

Interesting read of Head for Points this morning, but more so when you scroll down to the comments where this little nugget is tucked away “The BA board has already signed off on the devaluation as I understand it, it was due to be done at the April board meeting. The IT implementation appears to be an issue though. As the ex-Avios CEO is the guy running Etihad Guest now I think you have a feel for what it will be.”
