Emirates refund

    Following several significant disruptive changes to my 2 Business Class flights with Emiratres to BKK for mid March together with the increasing uncertanty of travelling at all I decide to cancel the whole trip till things become much easier.
    Have to say that the whole process was indeed a pleasant surprise. The requiste on-line request form was acknowledged immediately with a promise of 90 days to completion. 3 weeks later an e-mail arrived to say that the request had been actioned. Today a further 15 days on the money was in my account, 5 weeks in total. My follow-up phone calls during this time were answered immediately and helpfully. So well done Emirates!

    Good to hear BPP.

    However bear in mind the Dubai government gave Emirates a US$2 billion bailout.

    News of this emerged at the end of August.

    It’s believed part of this money was used to grant refunds to its customers.
