Emirates crash lands at Dubai International

    That is why I used the word exit rather than doors. I didn’t want to get into differentiating between doors & slides etc.
    Thanks for clarifying the exit standard – I wonder how long it took in this case under these circumstances?

    Just about to check out of a hotel on the Bath Rd, with a perfect view of runway 27R at LHR.

    Hearing a sudden and loud increase in thrust, I looked up just in time to see a BA 747 executing a very late ‘go around’ from over or just before the threshold.

    What was very noticeable was the significant rotation in pitching up and that the flaps and gear seemed to stay ‘as is’ for a few seconds whilst the pilot eastablished the climb away. There seemed to be more than adequate power, given the rate of climb.

    It was an impressive event from the ground.

    Re my prior post, having consulated FR24, it looks as if I saw BA116 going around.
