I managed to board early, with the eco pax, so knew there would be a delay whilst they called and boarded the J and F pax.

So I decided to crank my seat back and relax a bit, listening to my iPod.

The next thing I knew, I was awoken by some turbulence and looked out of the window to see the streets of Heliopolis flashing past, with about 2 miles to touchdown, giving me just enough time to return the seat to upright and switch off my iPod.

Not the strictest adherence to the usual safety policies, but on reflection being unconscious was the best way to endure this 1970s time warp aircraft, which looked ready for the scrapheap (internally.)
