I am unceratin that he did have legal representation. One of the newspaper reports stated his representative was not recognized by the tribunal however I would not rely on journalists reporting in this instance.

As a matter of conjecture I wonder how many call Wee Willy “Darling”?

Is that Sir CX Diamond, regional differences are to be embraced.

It’s Miss actually and I’m British so no need to embrace anything, least of all over familiar cabin crew.

Having read some of the posts i find it quite interesting how we all differ in what we want from cabin crew…

Do we change our attitude and expectations dependant on carrier and reason for travel or do we stick rigid to our learnt behaviours.

I personally like the freindly personable crew…and if (Big if ) their personality allows them to be a bit chheky thats not only fine but can make a bland journey into a memorable one.

    For example
On a Ryanair flight the young lass serving us chhekily told off my mate after a bit of flatuation..Next time she served us drink she comicaly rigged up a wee oxygen mask.

Or the BA chap who when me and my female colleague boarded last with the dispatcher, rebuked us and told us most sternly to sit in our allocated seats , allowed us to take a few more steps burst out laughing and escorted us back to the empty front row ..Brilliant. ..He spoke to us and changed my perception of BA being an over stuffy airline

AF crew at the back “bar” on the 777’s i find always willing to chat especially if their not due to do a service..spent 1/2 with a french vietnamese crew advicing him on how to holiday in Edinburgh on the cheap with his family.

Being brought up in relaxed Vancouver i always feel like i’m home because of the AC crews naturally warm and freindly attitude from the moment you step on board regardless of cabin travelling

    And I could go on,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

“I rather enjoyed cutting the legs from under him …. “

For daring to call you “pet”, wow I dread to think what follow up action you would have taken had he dared to have spilt a precious drop of your CX F champagne!

Being British does not exclude you from the nicer side of life – or maybe in your case it does, and that’s why you are so happy, on your own, in your little CX First Class bubble Hen?

Lucky he doesnt read this forum or I would been sued long ago. Interesting how the unions have stayed very quiet on this one. I have no problem with any woman calling me darling if it is genuinely ment, however a bloke? no thank you!!! In fact my recent domestic AA flight. I had some of the best service ever on a plane and moreover BA. No darling or huns but i did get a “sweety” (reffered to as) appeared to be naturally genuine all round service with smiles and laugh/giggle.

I would be interested to know why male cabin crew (hotties especially) tend to be gay… any ideas? 😉

    To all fellow BTer’s

And I have to say I love it when people refer to me as “son”…..!! having a youthful sometimes immature attitude to life has its advantages !

Just a thought as the weekend approaches !!

Generally I dont have an issue if the words and behaviour are sincere. If ever there are issues with a crew member I discuss with them directly and if not resolved escalate to the supervisor CSD etc.

I agree with papillion53, I cant image why I would want to ‘cut the legs off someone’ or even write about it. Does seem a bit sad.

As always I generally believe that passenger and crew are equally responsible for behaviours, which if good make a pleasant flight.

There are wirse things in life. I always wince when I am welcomed on boatd by name because you have so little life, all the crew recognize you as a regular. Very very sad.

“Hotties especially” tsk tsk Becky !! We have brains too..you shouldn’t just see us as sex objects ! These hard working Gay guys have so much more to woory about than their hetro-sexual brethern i’m told How much trouble would I be in if I started a thread with ” Did Hooters Air have the right in-flight business model”

Although Becky my Bookie manager pal got into trouble at a regional sales meeting because he suggested that his chain adopt a recruit only babes policy because given the choice …to quote him “where would the average hot blooded man decide to go to place a bet ” the granny grunter shop or the pleasing on the eye shop” although to say he’s a sexist is to say giraffees hacve long necks!

You can never remember everyone’s name (especially on a 747). I call everybody petal (have done for years). Never had a problem. Obviously not to passengers or flight deck crew unless I know them really well! This man sounds as though he is completely of the wrong temperament for cabin crew and is best off on the ground reading about fire and brimstone.

NedBartrolley – I had a boyfriend many years ago and I always remember him telling me “just call them all darling, darling, that way you’ll never get in any trouble!” 😉 🙂

Funny – I never used to take note of anybody calling me darling until after reading this thread and someone calling me that yesterday.

I think names such as darling and hon (typical in East Coast USA) it’s a polite reference/term of endearment.

I agree the UK term mate can be annoying when used by someone you don’t know…

A couple of BA F flights ago IAD – LHR I had eaten in the lounge and so was picky when it came to the meal service on board – it was the last flight that evening and about midnight by then. The charming CC got quite worried about my appetite and ended up with a wonderful northern “eeee, y’don’t eat mooch do ya.” I felt mum was back with me. One of the best flights I remember.
