Over the months and years there has been a lot of discussion on this Forum regarding Dublin-based Cityjet which is a major operator at London City Airport.

Until last year the carrier was owned by AirFrance/KLM until they off-loaded it to Intro Aviation of Germany.

And now the Irish media is reporting that Intro Aviation is poised to sell off Cityjet to an, as yet, unnamed buyer.

According to independent.ie “Intro Aviation is believed to have paid nothing for Cityjet when it acquired it last year. AirFrance/KLM also wrote off tens of millions of euros in debts owed by Cityjet to the parent, and also indemnified it against ongoing litigation in France.”

Cityjet courted controversy on the Forum when the airline announced it was buying a fleet of Russian Sukhoi Superjets.

Initially Cityjet placed a firm order to 15 Superjets. But it has now ordered a further five which brings its total order to 21.
