LondonAndy70ParticipantMy wife got me that for my birthday a couple of years ago – it really was worth it, so drop heavy hints!

traveldoc1ParticipantBought my wife a day return from Donegal (Carrickfinn – CFN) to Dublin.
Stunning scenery – it’s been voted the most scenic airport in the world – and of course I had the benefit of experiencing it too!!

2) Barra as mentioned
3) A flight on a DC-3 https://www.dutchdakota.nl/en/book-flight/plan-en-boek/
4) A trip on “The Canadian” from Toronto back to Vancouver
5) A flight on Air Koryo (old Russian banger)After researching the Loganair page, If I put my mind to it, the first 2 could definitely be a Christmas Gift to myself .

MontysaurusParticipantRe LondonAndy70’s post; my wife bought me the same trip this year as a birthday present. It was an excellent trip with one slight hitch – the flight home 3 days later was cancelled due to fog in Barra! We had an extra night and Loganair gave us a ticket for the boat the following morning with a bus from Oban to take us direct to GLA. Loganair’s handling of the situation was faultless as they arranged overnight accommodation for everyone on the flight plus the ferry and bus trip back the following morning. All accommodation and food costs were refunded within a week.
One family did the trip as a present for the father’s birthday but it was a day trip so they had nothing with them for an overnight stay, including no medication for the grandmother. Loganair even arranged for the local cottage hospital to issue emergency medication. Now that’s customer service!I’ve suggested to my wife that we do it again as I didn’t get to take off from the beach. She is not a keen flier but loved the flight so has readily agreed to go again next year.

I just received it as a birthday present. Really happy as I could not order it online as they don’t send out of the UK.
Just need a cold rainy day now to complete it!3 Dec 2018

tinnedpilchardsParticipantHonestly, it sounds prosaic but a really good USB battery pack is my essential travel gadget – and a great practical present
Got a two-port 10,000mAh Anker PowerCore that gets more than two full charges on my phone. Perfect for transatlantic travel – or hopping between transit flights and cars in far-flung Asian destinations
Nice in a multi-present combo stocking (probably not as the main gift tho!)
