I booked an avios redemption. Taxes were much lower on Iberia than BA for the same flight so I booked on Iberia.com. But the system forced me (unsurprisingly) to add my Iberia FF number.
I have no status with Iberia but I am Silver with BA. I know this route is often busy and delayed and managed to get upgrades in the past.
Is there a way to change to frequent flyer number in the booking? I am sure if I call BA they will complain I tried to dodge the higher taxes on their website…
Thanks for the help in advance.11th December 2015 at 05:38 #436288
I’d suggest booking as a non FF. It will mean inputting all your details manually though. Having done, and after you’ve got your confirmation, log back in and then add your FF# manually or, as I’ve done in the past, have them input it at check-in.11th December 2015 at 06:49 #436289
LP is correct, log out, log in.
another way is when you check in at the airport you can change there. I often used to do that across my one world cards11th December 2015 at 10:38 #436290
Can’t you just use the Finnair website (amongst others) to change it? That’s what I’ve done in the past.
Go to Manage Booking on https://www.finnair.com/gb/gb/11th December 2015 at 10:56 #436291
Can’t see why BA would complain or even be particularly interested, nmtraveller…… But I think for future bookings, LP’s advice is sound.11th December 2015 at 15:36 #436292
Thanks mkcol74! The Finnair website allowed me to make the change (unlike BA and Iberia website).
One other motivation to do it now (rather than wait at the airport) is I now have the possibility to select my seat today for free!
Thanks again to all 🙂12th December 2015 at 01:56 #436293

I tried to change my girlfriend’s FF on a BA booking from Asia miles to her new BA account. She emailed BA to be told they couldn’t do it by email but would have to phone. Here is Saudi one has to phone India.
Just changed it for her on Finnair, so easy!12th December 2015 at 09:28 #436295
Here was me thinking everyone knew about the Finnair route to changing the FF code. Guess I’ve been doing it for so long I’d forgotten about when I didn’t know.
Glad it’s helped some folks out 🙂
