Cathay Pacific is returning to New Zealand’s South Island, with three direct Hong Kong – Christchurch services a week starting December. (as BT may have mentioned a while ago as)

Cathay Pacific will be boosting the available international seats into Christchurch using the A350-900 aircraft – weekly on Monday, Thursday and Saturday.

Cathay last flew the popular route in 2017 and Christchurch will be the airline’s first seasonal route resumption since the pandemic and the previous troubles in Hong Kong.

We CW’s are looking to to fly the route again in January and I was told yesterday that bookings are strong.

Funny you start a new topic but ignore the errors of your previous claims when proven wrong!

Back in 2019 Cathay Dragon also operated 2 popular seasonal winter routes to Japan which included a then new service to Niigata and flights to Tokushima on Shikoku Island, They ceased along with most routes during the pandemic period. To date there has been no announcement that these will be resumed by ether Cathay or HK Express which I find a little surprising given that they were popular.
