A couple of years ago while leaving Amsterdam on KLM ..engine went on fire as we were taking off for Bangkok ended up back at Schiphol for the next 2 days…Did not mind in the least as KLM were Great.Meal vouchers like confetti which were accepted at the bar..with our German passengers also being in responsible drinking mode and 2 nights in Airport Hotel ..Meals all included with even more vouchers..no complaints.Finally got a aircraft that was airworthy ..but before take off staff issued everyone with the EU 261 Compensation forms …Duly completed and …from memory both wife and I got our 600 plus Euros each in bank accounts within a week.Soft spot for KLM..no arguments..
