cwoodwardParticipantThe SCMP article was very much another Cathay bashing beat-up.
Cathay of course were not complicit and would not have been aware that the pilot was ill unless he told them so which apparently he did not as there was never any reason to do so. To suggest that any reputable major airline would force a pilot to fly while ill is just ridiculous beyond words.
According to the pilots network and pilot friends who work for Cathay the truth is that the pilot felt slightly off colour for a couple of days with the symptoms of a cold but well enough to fly. He began to feel worse, went to the doctor who advised that he had measles.
A very normal situation handled properly other than by the SCMP whos vendetta against Cathay is becoming farcical.4 users thanked author for this post.
