It’s not unknown. Economy fares are often more expensive in the summer due to demand and business fares cheaper due to less demand,

I remember seeing a flight to Toronto many years ago where business was cheaper than economy!

Yes, I’ve travelled in first on both Emirates and BA as business was more expensive. I assume that the cheaper non flexible seats in business had all sold whilst they hadn’t in first class. Trains can be the same.
