transtraxmanParticipantFor several days now this piece of piece has been floating about, but I have found no comments on it in this forum.
“EU rules may force IAG to spin off British Airways,” (ch-aviation, 15-02-22)I thought that this whole problem was sorted out at Brexit. It can plainly be seen as an attempt by AirFrance/KLM and Lufthansa to weaken IAG. It calls into question the status of other crossborder deals such as Easyjet Austria? Where does that leave the other subsidiaries — Vueling and Aer Lingus? Would they be shared out on a pro rata basis? Is Qatar an investor in IAG or BA?.
Let this manoeuvre be seen for what it is, a blatant lockdown on competitive UK investment in Europe.
Without doubt IAG should fight this monopoly manoeuvre. If its plan A does not work then work on plan B to undermine the power and influence of the two all invading groups.
What will probably happen, and be better for it, will be a return to the present situation. i.e. has one foot in and one foot out.

transtraxmanParticipantI do not know if this piece of news should be included in this thread. However, I thought it better that you decide as there might well be a relation.
“IAG mulls cargo, loyalty, IT, aircraft disposals – report,” (ch-aviation. 01.03.22)https://www.ch-aviation.com/portal/news/113001-iag-mulls-cargo-loyalty-it-aircraft-disposals-report
Basically, the fact that IAG could be liquidating assets, does that mean it is part of a process to break up the empire?
