You may be right, you may be wrong. I can’t give you the right answer.
What I know is that we have had problems with immigration for a very long time because of our history and because the way our country dealt with this situation.
The huge security problem we have in France with “people from abroad” is mainly due to people who have been in France for a very long time, many of them being French nationals as they were born in France (the “second generation” as we call them this side of the Channel).
The problems we now have with the new immigrants are mainly sanitary problems and financial problems as nobody (including France and UK) are not willing to pay anything to help those European countries which are “to the front”.
