The British Airlines Stewards and Stewardesses Association (BASSA) has released (28 June) the following update on ongoing pay negotiations with BA:

“After eight months of very difficult negotiations with British Airways, Unite can now announce that we have been able to secure what we believe to be a much improved offer. This offer is not only an 11.5% increase on pay, but an additional brand new cash bonus for 2019 of £750 and an improved All Colleague Bonus Scheme . We have also been able to secure, for all areas, the introduction of a “ Gain Share Scheme” when facing significant change. This type of scheme has been successfully operated by the pilots and has generated thousands of pounds in additional bonuses for them over the last decade..

“The offer is attached to this email. We kindly ask that you read it carefully. Your reps in your area will be briefed over the next few days and will thereafter be able to answer any questions or concerns.

“Despite BALPA having issued an industrial action ballot, we have been able to maintain our joint Union approach by insisting that this offer is also made available to both BALPA and the GMB unions.”
