BusinessTravellerKeymasterThanks Potakas – this video is also embedded in the news piece below, which also has details of BA’s new World Traveller and World Traveller Plus seating:

VintageKrugParticipantImportant to note that the seating in the video is generic, and not anything like the new WT and WT+ seats BA is installing in these aircraft.

CharlieBrownParticipantDo we have any idea as to when BA plan to unveil their new WT & WT+ products? Maybe a campaign along the lines of “the new face of BA” also promoting their new First and slightly updated Club products?

continentalclubParticipantIt’s likely that the ‘unveiling’ will be akin to a hotel soft-launch, I would imagine.
The product will feature, at least initially, on a very small number of the fleet and it would probably be somewhat imprudent to commence proceedings with a great bally-hoo which could, inevitably, leave customers on non-upgraded aircraft somewhat disappointed.
Other websites and fora suggest an in-service date for the first aircraft fitted to be with the new products – Boeing 777-300ER G-STBA – during September 2010.
It’s reported that initial routes will be to the Middle East, India and East Coast USA.
Given the complexity of the fit-out, which includes Club World, New First, New WTP, new WT and also a completely new Thales IFE system, I would not be in the least bit surprised if the first flight date is pushed back a little, just as it seems Air New Zealand are having to do with their own 300ERs:

CharlieBrownParticipantI very much agree continentalclub, something akin to their launch of the new First. I hear the completion of the new First roll out is scheduled to be the end of 2011. Ergo the WT & WT+ should be completed around a year later (taking into account First isn’t installed on all BA long-haul aircraft).
I’d also be interested to discover if the new cabins come with an updated onboard service. Maybe a new meal presentation, the introduction of basic metal cutlery like competitors etc.
Finally I understand that a common theme will be deployed in all cabins. Various forums mention the use of the speedmarque throughout. Not a bad idea….
