Evidently there are significant delays in baggage reclaim today at LGW, caused by ‘staff shortages’ at Swissport, according to the BBC. I rest my case from my earlier post!

Unlike T5/BA, small mercy that LGW is at least being up front that hold baggage may not be loaded in coming days.

I used the new KLIA2 today, quite impressive for a “budget” terminal especially the speed of immigration. What was not impressive was the baggage delivery, 50 minutes from leaving the aircraft to picking up the case from the carousel

Swissport at JNB delivered my bags (correction, mrs. LP’s bags which I was forced to carry!) from a full Swiss A340 on a remote stand to the conveyor in under 15 minutes. Impressive I thought.

My worst was LGW during the previous World Cup final. No bags came out anywhere until 5 mins after the match finished!
