I see that BA have announced that they intend to move to Terminal 8 at JFK in 2022.

Terminal 7 will be demolished. New lounges, and stands for ‘the largest wide body aircraft’ will be built.

I wonder if that will lead to BA using A380s on the LHR JFK route, and if they will now order more of the type.

I know that Mr. Walsh has expressed interest ‘if the price is right’, and Emirates have been considering switching some of their orders to A350s, which could release some production slots.

Never say never but I think we will be more likely to see the A350 on the JFK route than the A380.

LHR-JFK is all about the frequency whereas the A380 tend to operate to more slot restricted destinations where 1-3 daily frequencies suffice.

Didn’t BA own that terminal, or was that a thing of distant past?

Cross threading here, but wouldn’t it be great if BA used the 380 as service differentiator on the JFK route.

Think Cunard class , in all classes !!
