BA are increasing the number of Tier Points earned when flying on longer European and North African routes (Europe Zone 3).

    These are:

Antalya, Athens, Istanbul, Izmir, Kiev, Larnaca, Moscow, Paphos, St Petersburg, Thessaloniki, Tripoli, Tirana, Tunis, Varna.

    New TP Levels:

    Discount Economy: 10

    Fully Flex Economy: 40

    Club Europe: 60

Previously these would have earned 40 TPs in Club Europe (CE = Shorthaul Business Class).

A 50% uplift in TPs is very welcome.

    It’s a 100% increase in Y.

From looking at the BA site it also appears to include HEL, etc which are now showing 40 TPs for Y.

Have you noticed the anomoly in Europe 3 / North Africa and Africa? Tel Aviv is in Eur3 and it costs 20,000 miles for an economy ticket using BA Miles but Cairo is in Africa and it costs 40,000 even though Cairo is less flying distance to LHR than Tel Aviv on the great circle. Now you get extra tier points flying to Tel Aviv too … Where is Cairo if it isn’t North Africa?

    Cheers

    Mike
