It may be useful for forum readers to have one ‘clean’ thread which is solely for the reporting of updates to commercial policies and rebooking, rather than general discussion.
If forum readers notice an update to the BA website, or any other official source, perhaps they could post here and then the thread will pop to the top of the listings whenever there is ‘new news’.
If possible, and to make it as useful as possible (particularly for those on mobile devices), please avoid posting comment and discussion in this thread.
If you are able to post an update, please do so with a GMT timestamp. Hopefully this will help us all stay abreast of the latest developments.

Unite, the trade union for British Airways (BA) cabin crew, has announced its intention to take strike action on the following dates:
* 18 to 22 May
* 24 to 28 May
* 30 May to 3 June
* 5 to 9 June
At the moment all of our flights are continuing to operate as normal.
We are currently finalising our flight schedules for the strike period and have temporarily stopped selling seats on all flights to and from London Heathrow between 18 May and 9 June.
If the strike does go ahead not all our flights will be cancelled.
We plan to operate all flights to and from London City and London Gatwick.
At Heathrow we plan to operate a substantial part of our longhaul schedule and there will be a number of flights to every destination across our shorthaul network.
Further information will be posted here as soon as it is available.
The most up to date information is detailed below. At this stage our call centre agents will not have any additional information regarding which flights are operating during the strike period.

We are now working through the Heathrow schedule to ensure we minimise any disruption to our customers. We will announce our Heathrow schedule on the following days:
13th May: Longhaul schedule announced for strike dates 18- 23 May
14th May: Shorthaul schedule announced for strike dates 18- 23 May
19th May: Longhaul schedule announced for strike dates 24-29 May
20th May: Shorthaul schedule announced for strike dates 24-29 May
25th May: Longhaul schedule announced for strike dates 30 May-04 June
26th May: Shorthaul schedule announced for strike dates 30 May-04 June
31st May: Longhaul schedule announced for strike dates 05-09 June
1st June: Shorthaul schedule announced for strike dates 05-09 June
Prior to the Heathrow schedule being announced, customers due to travel to/from Heathrow between May 18 and June 9 will be able to rebook.
Once we have announced the schedules, customers whose flights have been cancelled will be able to:
Rebook onto another British Airways flight to the same destination within 355 days of the original date of travel
Rebook onto another BA flight to/from the nearest alternative airport (for example, if booked to/from Boston you could rebook to/from Philadelphia or New York) for 14 days from the original date of departure
Get a refund.
We have also arranged to secure seats from other carriers, so thousands more of our customers can reach their chosen destinations.
Once we have announced the schedules, Heathrow customers whose flights are due to operate will still have the option to rebook.
All BA Cityflyer, codeshare, franchise and OpenSkies flights will operate as normal.

BA have announced their schedule for longhaul flights operating to and from London Heathrow between 18 and 23 May:
Search for your flight number and follow any instructions/guidance provided.
If you have your email address and/or your mobile number in your booking, then you will also receive an email and/or text message aprroximately 120 minutes after relevant flight schedule changes are made.

Statement on BA website at:
British Airways today (17 May) applied for a High Court injunction to stop the 20 days of strikes planned by Unite going ahead from Tuesday 18 May.
We are delighted that the application was successful and the strikes have been called off.
Sky News reporting that BA intending to resume full schedule by the weekend.

We are very disappointed that Unite’s appeal has been upheld, reintroducing the threat of strike action.
Our key concern now is to keep as many of you flying as possible and we will be proceeding with our contingency plans.
We would like to apologise to any of you who are affected by the strike. We will do all we can to minimise the disruption to you.
Please do not come to the airport unless you have a confirmed booking.
Flights to and from London City and London Gatwick
All flights into and out of London Gatwick and London City airports will operate normally.
Flights to and from London Heathrow
Travelling up to 23 May
If your flight has been cancelled please do not come to the airport.
Travelling between 24 and 29 May
We have now confirmed our flight schedule for ALL flights in and out of Heathrow during this period.
