Indeed, a trip I booked recently to the Middle East for October, BA was vastly cheaper than the local carrier (EK et al) and I have actually booked an open jaw with BA which I would not be able to do with the local airlines.

Um…the relevent Industrial Relations Act under which this will be tried was brought in by the Labour Government. In 2004.

    Geo,

thank you very much for the spelling lesson. If I may return the favour my name is spelt JonathAn not ‘on’ as in your last post.

I hope that the union’s appeal is dismissed with the contempt that it deserves.

When the redundandcies are announced over the next few weeks I hope that WW insists that striking crew go first.

GEO…why do you hate your management so much??

Geo, I am not refering to HKG and I am not travelling in July. My booking in the example I mentioned is for October. I have booked LHR-DXB and returning AUH-LHR. I have paid in Club World £1872.

LHR-DXB and return with Emirates is £1980 and Ethiad to/from AUH is exactly the same. LHR-DXB on BA was £1600 ish as was AUH. I could have closen to go out with EK and return with Etihad but that would have cost me in excess of £3800 depending on which way around I did it. The figures speak for themselves.

Are you sure you are not Arthur Scargill. You say you are your own boss, but have little grasp of business

    Hello Nigel,

sorry to go off post but I was wondering what you are having for your TEA tonight?

Perhaps NTarrant will be eating one of Willie Walsh’s favourite dishes, filet of mignon?

Can’t be too long before we see that in F. The CSD will be dispatched to slaughter one of the more militant, leftist persons sitting in the back of the plane, and then the remains will be flambeed, medium rare, and paired with one of Jancis Robinson’s nice Chiantis.

Though now I am fully aware of NTarrant’s declasse predilictions, he would probably enjoy his mignon with beans and fries, rather than sauce bearnaise and a baked potato.

There might even be mayonnaise involved…..! *recoils at the very thought*

    Good afternoon Jonathan and VK

For my evening meal tonight Mrs T and I have baked cod accompanied by Jersey Royals. Not sure what we are having for dessert (afters to those not accustom to the delicate things).

Mignon with beans and fries, how awful! Mayonnaise, yuck!

    My best wishes 🙂

I once had a chateubriand in First – carved at seat as I recall. Was memorably good.

Geo, I have just realised you are one of those Champagne Socialists, the ones that tout, up the workers, as in the BA dispute. But you run your own business and like all the trimmings of travelling in F and J class.

Yes and then when you get challenged about something you back track or don’t beleive it. We have one of you down our pub. Really you are a closet Tory, in fact more Tory than any Tory. You would never be able to live under the socialist values you proport to support.
