Seems a good offer and I’ve just contacted my bank here to get me one. I’ll report further when I’ve got it and used same! 7th February 2014 at 14:26 #527320 SergeantMajorParticipant Here is the link from the bank, I think you get a 5,000 bonus for your first transaction: http://www.absa.co.za/Absacoza/Media-Centre/New-BA-card-launched You can apply at: http://www.bacard.co.za/britishairways Appears to be a Barclaycard under the covers. 7th February 2014 at 17:27 #527321 JohnHarperParticipant Do the first 1000 applicants get a piece of 747 wing with their card and the second 1000 applicants a piece of demolished building? 7th February 2014 at 17:34 #527322 LuganoPirateParticipant ABSA is Barclays in disguise. My current credit and debit cards both have the Barclays logo on them as do all my statements etc. The spend rate seems very good, at current roe’s it’s 41p and 28p per Avios. How does that compare to a UK issued card? 7th February 2014 at 17:36 #527323 LuganoPirateParticipant No John, just a brick marked “BA woz here” 😉 10th February 2014 at 12:09 #527324 SergeantMajorParticipant It’s a good spend ratio, similar to the UK’s but I get 1.5 avios per £1 spent, 3 avios per £1 on BA spend. At present I am benefitting from an Amex promo, so I get an additional avios per £1 spent. The “Amex Voucher” is where the real value is to be had – after a £10k spend this effectively doubles the value of your avios, and is the best deal available. http://www.americanexpress.com/uk/content/ba-premium-plus-credit-card/ Author Posts Viewing 8 posts - 1 through 8 (of 8 total) You must be logged in to reply to this topic.
