Didn’t expect this – LGW-SSH seems to be being dropped from 3 May, largely because of political unrest causing a fall off in demand.

    Hopefully it’ll be back soon.

It will be interesting to see what they plan on doing with that aircraft.

Bali via KUL or SIN? as a test perhaps.

How about LGW to GLA and EDI during the strikes!!

How about LON-Libya and back, so that the people stuck out there can come back?

It has been confirmed that SSH was not making any money hence termination of this route. Club World cabin was always full of staff travelling on their J priority ticket and WT was always half empty. BA cannot compete on this route since EasyJet and charter airlines have better deals.

I wonder on what route will they use the spare aircraft on since MRU does not start until November.

If they are going to announce a new route for summer, isn’t it a bit too late?!

The aircraft is currently being used on the MLE and SSH.

I think MLE stops for the summer, too? Is that correct?

    So there’s a whole airframe going free….

There has been no mention about BA terminating the MLE route.

Instead I heard there have been talks about putting MLE, UVF and POS on a 4-class aircraft offering First on these routes.

So that would be the aircraft moving from LHR to LGW?

Possibly moving a 4-class 777 down to LGW.
