BA Axes Calgary from start of Winter Schedule

    Surprised to read that BA will suspend Calgary from the start of the Winter schedule. This flight is currently served by a 787-9 and one would have thought the winter season would have seen higher demand due to Calgary’s winter time pursuits. Competition from Westjet, Air Transat and Air Canada perhaps has pushed yields too low.

    This is a surprise having flown this route a few times load factors always looked good. Thought BA could compete with the introduction of HBO fares on long haul but guess they can make more £££ on other routes…

    The clue to what is behind this may well be with the hull used: a B789 – with its associated engine issues.
