BA announced provisional dates for A380 service LHR to/from LAX and HKG. I can find no other information about confirmed flight availability and dates other than this: http://www.britishairways.com/en-gb/information/flight-information/airbus-a380?source=R01

Anyone have additional insight or information?

BA must be confident the launch dates will be adhered to as tickets have been on sale for some time now.

I’m on one of the early flights to Hong Kong in November. Can’t wait to try it out.

News coming through on http://www.airlineroute.net is that BA will fly the A380 double daily for the summer 2014 season. Summer 2013 has 3x daily flights to LAX so this appears to be the first route to see consolidation following the A380’s introduction into the BA fleet.

Looks very pleasant… I wonder if there are any seats left on the inaugural flight to HKG?

It’s quite interesting to see the start of aircraft being made available through the fleet renewal, be it for other/new routes or for retirement. I didn’t expect it to happen so fast, but the plans are certainly there. I think it’s fairly clear that the overnight launch of new routes that some people were expecting after the bmi sale, simply cannot happen overnight!

I am booked on a 380 from LAX and am looking forward to the new aircraft. Does anyone have seating recommendations? On a 747, I always try for upstairs 62A or 62K and on a 777 10B or 10J.
On the 380 the front aisle row upstairs 50B or 50J are near the stairs, but look the seats to have.
    Otherwise 56b or J or downstairs 10b or J
