rfergusonParticipantHoorah.
Although they won’t be flying for BA.
Rossiya, an Aeroflot subsidiary will acquire seven ex BA 747’s.
Will be interesting to see what they do (if anything) with the cabins. Although looking at the registrations of the birds they are buying they are all ‘super hi J’ 87 J seat 747’s in a four class config. As Rossiya primarily serves leisure destinations I doubt such a config will be of much use. But who knows?

MartynSinclairParticipantI believe there will be ‘more than a few’ 747 remaining in the air. A good friend is a pilot for one of the large cargo airlines (he is on the 747 currently) and he tells me his firm are recruiting as many (suitable) 747 pilots they can find.
Do BAWC still retain the -800?

AMcWhirterParticipantGiven the amount of unused aircraft right now (since that piece was published) there are so more modern (and fuel-efficient) that can be used for passenger-cargo operation.

AMcWhirterParticipantIn fact that piece does not just concern the A380. There are links to other pieces we have published re the use of other modern aircraft.

According to BA the reports are fiction.
