Today, booking a 1 day rental in Atlanta, picking up in Buckhead, dropping of at ATL.
Noted all taxes, insurance etc were same:

Avis UK (using my Wizard number) £56
    BA – as above

Avis USA – without any FF number or affiliation – $48 (£34)

Concur – my companies new booking & expenses engine £68

    Can anyone explain?

Avis in particular – but other car rental firms as well – are well known for pricing dependent on the platform you are using. Their rates often vary much more wildly than above

I am a regular Avis renter (usually via AVIS_BA) and am Avis Preferred First level.

I booked a 1 day rental for next Wednesday at T5.

    Group B was stg£46 with AVIS_BA.

Booking the same car on BA.com it was £26.

I would get a free 2nd driver with AVIS_BA regardless of status but because of my Avis status (Preferred FIrst) I will get this anyway.

If you vary the Avis site you make the booking on i.e. USA, UK or Singapore, the latter where I live and vary your country of residence when you make a booking the price varies wildly. For a UK hire, booking on Avis.com and choose USA residency is the cheapest, the most expensive is avis.co.uk with UK residency.
