Had a recent email from Avios (as opposed to BAEC) which had a section headed “Travel in Comfort”. The benefits of booking an Avios Reward Flight Saver (RFS) ticket were listed as follows:-

“Complimentary food and drink, allocated seating, extra leg room, free hold luggage and a generous hand baggage allowance – you get all the benefits of British Airways with RFS – so were will you fly next? “

There then followed a few examples of Avios fares to Euro cities, eg Amsterdam 9,000 Avios + £35 RFS return, so Econ. not CE.

I know that recent enhancements to CE has seen seat pitch reduced to the same as Econ so it just puzzled me how Avois could offer “extra leg room”.

There was no suggestion of comparison with any other airlines offerings, and as far as I know BA seat pitch is more or less the same as other Euro carriers, except maybe Ryanair.

Any idea what I may be missing?
