    Hello,

A bit of a random thread, but it was brought to mind by having recently been gifted some old transparencies (slides), many of which had an aviation, hotel or travel angle.

As you know, Business Traveller has been around since 1976, and in the magazine we have a frequent From the Archive section.

If you have any old transparencies or slides from times gone by which you may be thinking of disposing of, please do get in touch, since if they are of airlines, hotels, or simply archive scenes, we may be interested in adding them to our files to help with future features.

It would be a shame for them to be thrown away…

    Morning Tom

I know I’m probably teaching your granny to suck eggs , or whatever the saying is…..but for those who love nostalgia there are some fantastic trips down memory lane, here’s my top 3 relevant to my upbringing ….

    Another one is http://www.vc10.net

Tom, must they be transparencies, as I have some photos which I could scan and send to you?

    Thank you,

    I hadn’t seen those links.

I’m not sure of the useage rights on sites like this, however.

It’s amazingly difficult to get even the ‘PR’ photos from yester-year, for instance, which once were freely avalable to illustrate articles.

If we try sourcing a picture of the old cradle seats on still-flying carriers, for instance, and we are faced with a considerable bill, which is a shame (especially since we once had all of these photographs in now long-disposed of filing cabinets).

Really it’s if someone was in the industry – marketing, for instance – and didn’t know what to do with the sheets of old transparencies. Worth a go anyway.

    Tom

Have a look at http://www.vc10.net. Only about 54 of these beauties were bulit but they have retained cult status.

Tom, does it need to be transparencies? I have some old photos which I could scan and send you, if I can locate them.
