An amusing photo, but seems to have been a real event:

    http://www.jbrranch.com/P1010062.jpg

A passenger using an “assistance pony” as an alternative to a guide dog.

The lady in 1A doesn’t look best pleased to be at the “business” end of things!

I have seen non-service dogs in the cabin on Air France and Continental; do any other airlines provide cabin-passage for small dogs and cats?

    That is just ridiculous!

    There’s a surcharge of £25

Don’t you mean ‘a pony’, Jim?

By the way, VK, while technically any member of Equus caballus under 14 hands 2 inches (58 in; 150 cm) is termed a “pony,” many breeds, including some miniature breeds, actually retain a horse phenotype and their breed registry therefore classifies them as horses.

The example in the Barbie jet is such a horse!

A bit like calling Vintage Krug babycham 🙂

Yeah, it’s an internal flight within Shetland!

The woman in 1D wants a refund on the surcharge for an extra legroom seat. The meal service could be interesting as well – at least no need to fish the tray out of the arm rest.

Take it we’re no longer allowed to call it cattle class then.

I have been called many names, “babycham” is, thankfully, not one of them… 😉

Hope Michael O’Leary doesn’t read this forum…..no doubt he’d see a new revenue stream.

Would he charge a pony to carry a pony??

He’d be taking you for a ride at that price.

A queue built up at security when they wanted the pony’s shoes off. Hopefully IRIS will be working on arrival.

It was customs that was the problem … turns out the little pony was carrying something to make it grow. It was a drugs mule.

Some USA internal flights allow cabin passage for dogs and cats below a certain weight as long as the animal is in an approved carry on animal bag that can fit under the seat in front. I know this as I sat next to a passenger on a jet bkue flat from NYC to MCO last year.

I would doubt very much that the picture is real and I am suprised that VIntagekrug or “Babycham” could possibly be taken in by such nonesense.

If the pony had been sitting in a seat and strapped in like normal human beings, then I would have accepted the pictures authenticity.

We sent this picture out on the Seatplans Twitter page, and received this rather interesting reply…

“Assistance horses are quite common in Islamic countries, as dogs are not allowed as they are considered unclean”

    @ CMB it’s not a fake photo:

Guide horses are more common than we might think, apparently.

Here are more pics from the equine “day out”:

And indeed, it seem even pigs can fly:

If this isn’t worthy of a print article in the Christmas edition of BT, I don’t know what is!

So you don’t have to prove the animal is an ‘assist animal?’

Just wait until I board with my ‘assist’ black mamba!

Not very good at guiding, but magic at clearing heavy crowds 😉 See at 1minute in this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zmre5kI49rI
