Perhaps some consolation for Hong Kong after Virgin Atlantic said it would not return to HKG is the news today [FR] that Skyteam member Air France says it will restart Hong Kong on January 9.

Virgin Atlantic will shortly join Skyteam.

One wonders whether there’s some connection here.

AF must be expecting healthy demand as it will be operating its B777-300ER x3 a week.

Flights (with available connections from other parts of Europe including UK) are open for booking.

    And about time too!

KLM & AF had been our go-to choices for getting to Bristol one stop via AMS or CDG. Covid brought everything to a halt, and even when KLM resumed earlier this year, they combined the BKK & HKG flights, leading to an extra stopover.

Now that AF is resuming, hopefully the fares will decrease and more flights added.
