My Hong KongAmex card expires at the end of June. I was told that I could expect to receive the card one week before the expiry date. Meanwhile, I have registered my Amex card with eLong, the large travel agency in China, to pay for all my travel needs. eLong tells me that they are unable to accept payment by credit card if the card expires in the month of the debit date. Hence, I am unable to pay for all my travel expenses from the lst of June as my Amex card expires at the end of June. This has created considerable inconvenience as I have to arrange for payment by cash or, of course, I could use another credit card which if I did, I would not have needed to use Amex in the first place. Perhaps eLong and/or Amex Hong Kong have a reply to this ?
