I have no doubt that Thailand will now enter a period of significant change – though a mourning period of a year has already been stated by the government.

SwissdiverParticipantHe will succeed. Two scenarios possible, I think:
– Army has a real green light
– He manages to bring back his friend Mr. Shinawatra15 Oct 2016

LuganoPirateParticipantI’m going with Steve on this one, the army will clamp down and all see a stratocracy rather like Burma’s. More interesting times!

MartynSinclairParticipantI am using this site for updates. My next trip is scheduled for early December which will be after the initial 30 days morning.

I am probably going to buy some running tops that have a toned down colour – not sure that running in bright green and orange tops will be considered respectful.
I will also ask the hotel GM to let me have an update before I travel.

DerekVHParticipantI suspect the situation may be different in Bangkok where the Royal Palace is located and my friends only commented that the bars were open. I don’t think they are interested in the other form of entertainment which may be closed. I was assuming the situation would be the same in Phuket.
