DutchinSwitzerlandParticipantPersonally I don’t see the issue that some people have with AMS, it is an efficient airport (especially when travelling in business or as an S-team frequent flyer. From walking into the terminal to entering the lounge for a glass of bubbles never takes more than 15-20 minutes for me. Transfers can be quite a walk but I personally like that after sitting on a plane for a while.

AnthonyDunnParticipantWell if we’re talking about being gouged, how about being made to wait 45 minutes in order to pay the host government £10 in cash per person for the privilege of then being able to join the passport queue… Senior Management and my experience at Istanbul Ataturk on Saturday morning.
And no, there was no WH Smith to provide either entertainment value or distraction whilst in the queue.

FirstClassWannabeParticipantMadrid, amazed it is that high at 47th. No need to go to the gym if transitting there as it gives you a great workout, especially if on a tight connection. . The same goes for AMS, never understand why people say it is so good.

TerryMcManus24ParticipantLove AMS…
where else if feeling hungry you can go round the food stalls trying all those free samples of Dutch Cheeses and those wee biscuits things…never need to buy a meal.
Also if a bit skint just go into the Airports Casino where you can win a load of money that can be spent in all those nice bars overlooking the aprons….Toppers

BigDog.ParticipantDidn’t think it was worthwhile starting a new thread for but the Telegraph has a series of survival guides to the larger UK airports.
