Great article from the team this month giving details of the airport aligned Covid tests available to travellers. However, one airport was blatantly missed out – Birmingham International, who use Express Test.

For any travellers who were looking for that information and couldn’t find it in the latest magazine, then you can find it here: https://www.birminghamairport.co.uk/testing-for-departing-passengers/

Please give people full details next time

    Thank you, Corporate-gal.

We all add it to this one and update it

Which airports are offering Covid-19 tests?

Problem with Expresstest at BHX is that they offer tests for Red and Amber but not for Green, so you need to take a Day 2 PCR test somewhere else. Last Friday we arrived and drove to LocalPCR in Birmingham who were very efficient. Results in less than 24 hours.

Now updated with Birmingham and Southend.
    Thank you.

To update my earlier post I have today received an e-mail from Expresstest and you can now have a Green Country Day 2 test on arrival at BHX.

@FaroFlyer is that not the problem with ALL testing centres? Way too much demand and too little capacity.

When we had our Fit to Fly tests at BHX there were no queues and, 3 days later when we checked in for our flight I noticed that there were, again, no queues at Expresstest BHX.

Financial Times piece this morning on testing for travel in general….

Majority of Covid test providers unaccredited, says UK assessor
Consumer groups and industry bodies criticise government for lack of oversight of companies offering tests for travellers

“….the UK Accreditation Service (UKAS), which took over the role of overseeing private Covid testing from the Care Quality Commission in January following a change of law, said only a fraction of those on the list had been granted full accreditation.”
