AMcWhirterParticipantAir NZ is now suffering the effects of the travel downturn.

It was supposed to end its London route in late October. But as we reported it was suspended ahead of schedule last March and will not now return.
So much reader feedback for every Air NZ news piece we have posted.

The London flight was permanently canceled on October 19 2019 with the then loss of 119 jobs.
This was not a recent decision or one connected with the virus.

AMcWhirterParticipantAs Simon noted cwoodard Air NZ gave one year’s notice of its cancellation of London.
At the time the airline said the long cancellation notice was to benefit its VFR customers (who usually book well ahead).
Then along came Covid-19 and the decision was taken to cease flying in March 2020 but, as noted in our copy, the intention was to restart the route in June and continue flying to London until end October.
That of course never happened.
